Since the establishment of the Eduardo Frei Foundation, more than 300 projects have been realized. In Central and Eastern Europe, the foundation is active in educating and training politicians and officials. The projects are financially supported by the Social Transformation Programme (Matra) of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Some examples:

• trainings for mayors in Macedonia
• campaign seminars and party building seminars in Romania, Georgia, and Croatia
• conferences on issues like agriculture, civil society, EU/NATO and cross border cooperation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Bulgaria and Ukraine
• study visits to the Netherlands for Political Women Organizations or Political Youth Organisations from for instance Moldova.

In the Netherlands the EFF organized several conferences in cooperation with the NCDO (National Committee for international cooperation and sustainable development) on for instance Civil Society and Development and Religion.
