In Macedonia, the EFF organises training courses for newly elected city councillors and mayors of the VMRO-DPMNE party. The VMRO-DPMNE party has attracted many new local people’s representatives after the local elections, many of whom are young and inexperienced. The EFF trainers focus on the following topics:
- establishing priorities for councillors
- council integrity (division of power)
- communication with citizens
- overall integrity.
The trainings courses teach the participants how to start a dialogue with their constituents and to comprehend new political developments coming their way. In addition, they learn how to implement policies based on shared Christian democratic principles and about the value of integrity in politics. The topics of the training courses are relevant for both the newly elected officials and for the VMRO-DPMNE party itself.
