CDA International.

The CDA stems from the oldest political parties in the Netherlands. But our mission today is to seek justice and peace for evereyone. We are a Christian-Democratic party, guided by a coorporative mindset and focussing on justice, stimulating bottom-up initiatives and enterprises, and ensuring that we leave the world a better place for our children.
We believe in a caring govenment, empowering the positive forces in society.
An open party of and for all Dutch people, who stand for the same values of descent and responsible poiltics. The CDA stands for a policy where the common good trumps self-interest. We stand for a society in which coorporation is key, where we don't always look to the government to fix our problems, but ask ourselves "what can we do together to make Delft, the Netherlands and the world a better place?".

As a people's party, the CDA chooses values-driven politics. Because values connect us. At the CDA's inception, the founders established our political compass in four principles:
Our core values:
Public justice.
We believe in doing the right thing, and the importance of upholding the rule of law. The rule of law is an indispensable prerequisite for protecting human dignity.
The government exists to make coexistence possible for all of us. The CDA advocates for fair governance that sets clear boundaries and provides people with security. The government must combat injustice; it must be just. That's why we stand up when minorities are discriminated against, when investments are unfairly distributed across regions, or when people are sent from pillar to post by the government.
Stewardship.
We have to leave the world a better place for our children and grandchildren. At the CDA, we call this stewardship. A good example of stewardship is our choice for ambitious and realistic climate action.
For us, stewardship is broader than just climate. Cherishing the culture and traditions we inherited from our ancestors is a form of stewardship. Stewardship also involves finances. We handle taxpayers' money responsibly because we shouldn't burden the next generation with our own bills.
Shared responsibility.
Everyone in our society has both individual and collective rights and duties. The CDA calls this shared responsibility. Together we can achieve more. For us, politics begins with recognizing social initiative. That's why we advocate for fewer regulations and more space for associations and cooperatives.
This sharing of responsibility is also evident in other areas. The government shouldn't interfere in everything. People often know things much better themselves. That's why we stand for freedom of education, so that parents can participate in decisions about their children's education. We strongly believe that employees, such as nurses and police officers, have a say in their own work. We don't let well-intentioned people get bogged down in protocols and administrative burdens.
Solidarity.
Solidarity is about looking out for one another. We all share the same planet. We are inextricably linked and are happiest when we live in community with others. When we are seen and valued by others.
Based on this value, Christian Democrats were partly responsible for the development of the welfare state. The government provides the foundation for social security. In a decent country, everyone has healthcare, education, and affordable housing. Vulnerable people deserve support. Support from both a strong society and support from a caring government.
Our work in Delft.
Within the council of Delft, our people work hard to make the city a better place. We focus on:
Housing.
For the CDA Delft, a house is more then a product you buy or lease, but an essential basic need. We are committed to a city where as many people as possible can find suitable and affordable housing. With special attention to first-time buyers, families, and the elderly. At the same time, we fully realize that the housing shortage cannot be resolved overnight. For this, we also need the help of the region, the national government, and the province of South Holland. Wherever possible, we must work to make housing available in a green and climate-adaptive environment with facilities that grow with the city.
Health and mental welbeing.
In a good society, people are connected to each other, and we work to strengthen this bond. In this way, we encourage a close-knit society. Churches and other faith-based communities are also important social partners for the CDA. In this way, we develop a society in which we look out for eachother. This means that when someone needs care, we first consider what they can solve themselves and whether their family, friends, or neighbors can help. After this, we assess what additional professional care is needed.
Caring and responsible government.
The municipality is often the first level of government people encounter. We therefore believe the municipality should be a recognizable, approachable, and reliable partner in the lives of our residents, entrepreneurs, and organizations. The municipality stands by your side, thinks along with you, and supports you where needed. Furthermore, the municipal government is honest, responsible, and fair. We operate based on trust in people and institutions. In this way, the CDA aims to promote closer ties between government and society, with an eye for future generations.
